Bucks Bygone Byways Blog

Where you shelve a book is not a little thing. You’re telling the world what to value, who to value.

In 2021, I began writing a monthly blog, Bucks Bygone Byways, for the Bucks County Parks and Recreation Department as a way to share the County’s rich and diverse history. The topics have ranged from the story of the First County Park to the Mapping of Tinicum Township. In particular, I have tried to share stories from the underserved members of community, which through lack of historic documentation have been obscured over the years, such as the story of Mary Kennedy Erwin who was forced to sue her wealthy husband for support in the 18th century.
